This year the theme for World Mental Health Day is: Dignity in Mental Health – Psychological & Mental Health First Aid for All. Liaison Psychiatric Clinic at Nephrology Unit Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan (HTAA) Department of Psychiatry International Islamic University Objective: The aim of this clinic is to provide psychiatric care and services to chronic renal failure patients with psychiatric morbidities.
There are multiple reasons for this, including a traditional focus on psychiatric disorders when thinking about treating suicidal thoughts and behaviors (which doesn’t have much evidence of being effective at reducing suicidal thoughts and behaviors) and stigma associated with having made a suicide attempt that may have dissuaded individuals from wanting to participate in a formal research study in the past.
This May, MHA is calling on you to share what life with a mental illness feels like – we want you to speak up, to share your point of view with people who may be struggling to explain what they are going through—and help others figure out if they too are showing signs of a mental illness.
The Suicide Aftercare Association is a Philadelphia-based, 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Public Charity whose purpose is to provide no-charge postvention services, including biohazardous scene cleaning, primary crisis support, and general aid in the aftermath of a suicide attempt or completion.
We are also finalizing new coding and payment for care using the Psychiatric Collaborative Care Model that supports mental and behavioral health through a team-based, coordinated approach involving a psychiatric consultant, a behavioral health care manager, and the primary care clinician and which extends beyond the scope of an office visit.
