Welcome To Holistic Healing Arts
Holistic veterinarians practice holistic or complementary veterinary medicine. Far more expensive drugs that come with greater risks and more side effects have failed to do as well in altering the trajectory of the disease and Holistic Medicine providers have been stressing on the use of natural herbal holistic medicine supplements and minerals.
AIHM Fellows learn with and from one another and represent multiple professional disciplines, including medical, osteopathic, naturopathic and chiropractic physicians, advanced practice nurses, registered nurses and direct entry midwives with a master’s degree or doctorate in a health related field, physician assistants, licensed acupuncturists, registered dieticians, dentists, pharmacists, psychologists, and licensed clinical social workers.
As more of the treatment outcomes of holistic practitioners are getting reported in the scientific literature as showing efficacy, safety, and positive benefits, a greater degree of acceptance and acknowledgment by conventional medicine is being seen.
Integrative health and medicine focuses on prevention, high-quality partnerships among clinicians, a collaborative relationship between practitioners and patients/clients, and evidence-based therapies that are not only effective, but tend to improve health.
Other alternative practices such as chiropractic and osteopathic manipulative medicine were developed in the United States at a time that western medicine was beginning to incorporate scientific methods and theories, but the biomedical model was not yet totally dominant.
